Running Wiring on Ubuntu?
« on: October 09, 2011, 04:59:40 PM »
I have downloaded Wiring 1.0 and installed it under Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. I'm new to both wiring and Ubuntu.

It works very well if started from a terminalwindow, but when trying to start from an icon nothing happens. I would very much like to run Wiring just by clicking an icon.

How can I achieve this?

I think the problem has to do with the folder in which the bash script starts.  So.... it takes a teeny bit of work to get it to work right.

add:
cd path/to/install
after the line:
#!/bin/sh

then you can run the script from anywhere.

The other problem, which I am having a bit of trouble solving in these few minutes I have, is getting the script to run from the "Desktop" when you double click either a link to the script, or a copy of the script.  Any help from Ubuntu/KDE users out there would be helpful.
