Resistor Question
« on: November 10, 2013, 09:58:49 PM »
I have an item that I'm trying to increase its speed slightly as well as its play duration. It typically takes 3 C cell batteries, which causes it to be very slow and may last an hour. I wired a 9 volt battery in but it's too fast; however, the duration has increased.

What I would like to do is wire in two 9 volt batteries but limit the out going voltage to about 6 or 6.5 volts. I'm just not sure what level resistor to use or if there's a online calculator that would help.

I'ts beter to use a regulator, I think.

But it depends on the motor current.
And the 9v battery's are normal Max 150ma also not the best choice.

Please give more information.

I can't say much about the motor. It's just a little motor that ran on 3 C batteries. I wanted to use 9volt batteries because I could get two in the battery compartment. Running anything external from the battery compartment opens itself to destruction as I have pets who would probably chew through external wires if left out.
