If you have a PCB with the mega128 you can use this with Wiring, but not with the  644 bootloader.

I use wiring with my ecb1 PCB with Mega128, but with a Mega128 bootloader.

You get a 644  massage because you select the wrong board.

This is my used Mega128 board:

LiquidCrystal myDisplay = LiquidCrystal(0,1,2,2);

must be:

LiquidCrystal myDisplay(2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7); // RS E DB4 DB5 DB6 DB7

Syntax
display.print(data)
display.print(data, base)

must be:

myDisplay.print(data)
myDisplay.print(data, base)

I'ts beter to use a regulator, I think.

But it depends on the motor current.
And the 9v battery's are normal Max 150ma also not the best choice.

Please give more information.

Installation Questions / Close comport after uploading
« on: August 18, 2013, 07:45:45 AM »
I have a problem on my current desktop PC with windows 8.

If I use the USB on the front Windows is not see the FTDI chip.
But if I use the USB on the back side windows is installing the drivers and
everything seems ok....

But,  after uploading a sketch the COM Port is not closed.

After a timout from AVRdude the port is not closing. and Wiring keeps displaying

Uploading...

So I have to disconnect the board so windows is closing the Comport and Wiring say there is a serial error.

After that and reconnecting I can open the terminal window and by closing the terminal the
COMport is closed.

It looks a problem between AVRdude and wiring.

I'm using Windows 8 on a 64 bit system
